World oil prices have fallen sharply from their July 2008 high mark.

Biofuels grow at a slower rate due to lower crude oil prices and. The decline reflects increased domestic production of both petroleum and natural gas, increased use of biofuels, and lower demand resulting from the adoption of new vehicle fuel efficiency standards and rising energy prices. Biomass and biofuels growth is slower.

Efforts may be under way to curb the rise in world energy consumption and with it the world’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions - but that won’t curb some serious growth between now and 2030 according to the International Energy Outlook. Oil prices are expected to rise and may even hit $130 a barrel by 2030.
