Scuderi makes engine fuel saving breakthrough

Testing on a Scuderi split-cycle engine at the Southwest Research Institute suggests the model would consume 25 per cent less fuel than a standard petrol engine while matching its power and torque. The preliminary results follow testing in a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, but may only be the beginning of the potential fuel consumption reduction.

Toyota Prius named WhatGreenCar of the Year
