BASF and Russia’s Gazprom signed a legally binding basic agreement to swap assets of equivalent value. Since 2000, Wintershall’s production of crude oil and natural gas has increased from 80 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe) to an expected around 140 million boe in 2012. This is an average increase of 5% per year.
