The EPA rates the 2022 K5 GT 2.5L possibly being the poster child for how good they are.

In a policy analysis in the ACS journal Environmental Science & Technology , researchers from the Universities of Cambridge, Exeter and Oxford argue that, due to the increased emphasis on alternative fuels with drastically differing energy densities, vehicle efficiency should be evaluated based on energy rather than volume.

The EPA has rated the fuel economy at 21 mpg city/28 highway/24 combined. Cracking 30 mpg on the open road with a midsize AWD was a nice surprise, but it really shouldn’t be that big of deal as Clean Fleet Report feels all AWD cars, at a minimum, should get 30+ mpg on the highway. non-turbo, rated at 25/28/26 mpg.
