Which reminds me of a personal W124 story: I am friends with a couple, both of whom work in design-related fields. Naturally, I suggested a decade-old Toyota or Honda minivan. Just ask European taxi drivers. I think that makes the W124 the final Mercedes-Benz model to be genuinely reliable over a decades-long timescale.
