Electrify America selected Long Beach and the Wilmington neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles as its second “Green City” investment. The Green City plan received approval from the California Air Resources Board on 24 June.

The California Air Resources Board has approved the first three Community Emissions Reduction Programs (CERP) within the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) under Assembly Bill 617. The plans approved are for: Wilmington, Carson, West Long Beach.

The California Air Resources Board approved a new regulation designed to reduce pollution further from ocean-going vessels while docked at California’s busiest ports. Tankers docking at the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach must also comply starting in 2025, while tankers in Northern California have until 2027.
