The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has renewed calls for scrapping the most polluting diesel cars and giving drivers cash incentives to switch to cleaner vehicles as part of the evidence he gave to the Environmental Audit Committee today. There are also proposals to tighten the standards for the London-wide Low Emission Zone from 2025.

Since most days were over 90 degrees, Uber and taxis were our best bets for getting around. The taxi dropped us in front of a long gate that opened to low, concrete buildings hung with Asafo flags, the colorful regimental flags belonging to the Fante people, a Ghanaian ethnic group.

We could take an Oslo taxi and charge it in a bus terminal in Wenatchee, Washington or vice versa. In our Gothenburg and Oslo taxi projects, the chargers are at the taxi stands. It’s in the pavement at a bus stop in the middle of a residential neighborhood. We also have a grocery delivery van with Waitrose in London.
