GM has selected LG Chem—the supplier of the cells for the Volt—also to supply the Li-ion cells for the new Buick PHEV, Stephens said.

They only have that many models because they use the same chassis and drivetrain to build 3 different cars, one branded as a Chevy, the next a Pontiac, then a Saturn, etc. One wonders if the recent headway at MIT in building lithium ion cells using ?virus? The EV1 needs to be built with LI batteries and a REAL Assembly Line.
