Strategic Biofuels announced that its Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) Test Well Program was successfully completed at the company’s Louisiana Green Fuels Project (LGF) in Caldwell Parish, Louisiana. The program used oil field workers and traditional oilfield equipment to advance this green energy project.

Darling International and a subsidiary of Valero Energy Corporation are taking initial steps towards the formation of a joint venture to build a facility capable of producing more than 10,000 barrels/day or (135 million gallons per year) of renewable diesel on a site adjacent to Valero’s St. Charles refinery near Norco, Louisiana.

The US Department of Energy (DOE) is offering a conditional commitment to Diamond Green Diesel, LLC, the proposed joint venture between Valero Energy Corporation and Darling International Inc. The project will produce renewable diesel fuel primarily from animal fats, used cooking oil and other waste grease streams.
