Hyundai delivered its first NEXO fuel cell SUV ( earlier post ) to Tom Hochrad of Ventura, California—the first US customer to drive off in the new NEXO, the only mass-produced fuel cell SUV for the US market, featuring a range up to 380 miles. The NEXO Limited Trim has an estimated range of 354 miles.

Hyundai’s Tucson Fuel Cell ( earlier post ) established the land speed record for a production hydrogen-powered SUV at the Soggy Dry Lake Bed of the California desert, with a top speed of 94.6 Hyundai has nearly 100 Tucson Fuel Cell SUVs on the roads in Southern California; the first was delivered to its owner in June 2014.

A Hyundai Nexo – which gets power from hydrogen fuel cells – is on display at the company’s HQ in Gururgram. The Korean auto giant will display the Nexo SUV which runs on hydrogen fuel as part of its plans to show how alternative fuel technology works. All three cars are loaded with latest safety features.

Hyundai presented its new 2019 Kona Electric crossover (introduced in March at the New York Auto Show, earlier post ) and 2019 NEXO fuel cell SUV (showcased at CES in January, earlier post ) to US media at a driving introduction in Los Angeles. The FE Concept showcases Hyundai Motor’s fourth-generation of hydrogen fuel cell technology, an evolution of research, development and real-world evaluation programs around the world. When compared with the current generation system used in the Tucson ix35 Fuel Cell, the new technology is 20% lighter, and achieves 10% greater efficiency.
