Lexus has announced the specifications and prices for its new LS range, which includes the full hybrid, the LS 600h L Premier, which boasts a 5.0 litre V8 engine and delivers 439bhp (327kW) and is a snip at £99,495.

Toyota has hit the millionth sale milestone for its hybrids in Europe with the delivery of an Auris hybrid to a driver in Germany. Hybrid sales already account for 23% of Toyota Motor Europe’s (TME’s) total sales year-to-date. In Europe, Toyota manufactures the Yaris Hybrid, Auris Hybrid, Auris Hybrid Touring Sports.

Annual global sales of TMC hybrids. Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) has cumulatively sold more than 2 million hybrid vehicles since the launch in 1997 in Japan of the Coaster Hybrid EV in August and the Prius in December. On May 31, 2007, the global cumulative sales of TMC’s hybrid vehicles had topped 1 million.
