This new company, Bright Automotive , is founded by ex-GM EV1 people, and the super efficient Rocky Mountain Institute to make plug-in hybrids in Indiana. The car will go 30 miles on batteries before the gas engine kicks in and be street-legal. The onboard gas engine largely exists to recharge the batteries for the electric engine.
