Smart Grid City will use a realtime high-speed two-way communication throughout the distribution grid. Smart meters and substations will be integral.

Slovenia, Iceland, the Netherlands, Ireland, India, Denmark, Sweden, Israel, Germany and the United Kingdom all have 2030 deadlines. GM has announced that by 2025 they will introduce 30 new EV models and by 2035 they will only retail electric vehicles. . Capacity of the grid and managing demand. . Japan has a 2035 deadline.

Better Place is building stations in San Francisco, Hawaii, Israel, and Denmark to swap out 1,000 pound batteries in a car wash type set up. The true impact of electric vehicles should consider the make-up of the power grids where these cars will be used. I am more reminded of Segway, or that GM thing that Segway helped them build.

Also, besides giving you the ability to charge at night when most utility rates are lower, future vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology may allow you to sell some of your stored energy back to the utilities. The demands on the grid would require a lot of infrastructure work without some sort of "energy reservoir" in place.

Including complete tables for Israel in 2019-2020 which I calculated and handed over to Jose! Israel is nowhere near the Top 10, but I just wanted to brag). In October, our relatives in Israel bought this amazing Hyundai Ioniq BEV, designed and built in Korea. Heck, even Israel crossed 3% last year. E-buses were deployed.
