Out in the desert as part of Burning Man , our encampment, Snow Koan Solar, is setting up a solar photovoltaic EV Charging Station (at 7:30 and Desert) for electric scooters, golf carts, sofas and barstools. I hope Google is realizing that their plug-in hybrid fleet could probably mostly be all-electric cars.

Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid, which is expected to sell for $40,000 when it goes on sales in the U.S. GM plans to launch the Volt in China in 2011. Chinese auto makers also showed other types of "new energy" vehicles, including regular gasoline-electric hybrids to compete with Toyota Motor Corp.s Prius hybrid.

The Think Global would definitly be classified as a mini-car, several size classes smaller than a compact car like the Honda Civic or Ford Focus. They are either glorified golf cart city cars like this one or they are only for the very wealthy like the Tesla. Electric cars a still a joke.

But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. It isa fundamental change in direction for GM. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. GM is developing more fuel-efficient vehicles.
