In Germany, all Mercedes-Benz plants will be supplied with CO 2 -neutral energy. From 2022, the production of our Mercedes-Benz plants in Germany will operate CO 2 -neutral. Already existing highly efficient gas CHP systems additionally generate local heat and power at the factories. The plant will start operating in 2019.

Topsoe’s SOEC manufacturing plant is to be built in Herning, Denmark, and has recently received FID from the board. First Ammonia has been developing sites around the globe with the first installation of 500MW of capacity to be installed at locations in Northern Germany and Southwestern United States.

Currently, there are some industrial facilities that use battery swapping to replenish the energy stores of electric forklifts.
