Most of the vehicles debuting at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show were powered by some sort of electricity. Not all were, of course, as there is still plenty of interest around gasoline-propelled cars, SUVs and trucks. 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV. liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine that now pumps-out 195 horsepower.

Hyundai presented its new 2019 Kona Electric crossover (introduced in March at the New York Auto Show, earlier post ) and 2019 NEXO fuel cell SUV (showcased at CES in January, earlier post ) to US media at a driving introduction in Los Angeles. Hyundai estimates the range to be 258 miles. NEXO fuel-cell SUV.

It also had an upshift light (located in the lower right corner of the cluster) to remind drivers that fuel economy was more important than brisk acceleration. The original Honda Insight beat it, but it needed a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain plus a lot of cutting-edge aerodynamic and weight-reduction tricks to pull it off.

The gasoline-powered GV70 is the best-selling Genesis model, so the addition of an all-electric version of this popular SUV will find a place in many garages as GV70 owners make the transition to electric propulsion. I think we have 22 or 24 buses in the San Diego area, and we have another deployment underway in the Los Angeles Unified School District, where we are initially deploying 24 as well. On the light-duty side we are working with ABB and Wallbox. In Denmark, we’ve done all those light-duty fleets. That’s our product.
