UPS announced an update to 125 Workhorse E-GEN series hybrid electric delivery trucks that improve fuel economy as part of the company’s broader Rolling Laboratory approach. 4-cylinder engine; charging capability remains the same, as does the electric range. The small ICE could be outfitted for gasoline, propane, or CNG.

Mercedes-Benz is offering five newly developed and modified engines—four of them with direct injection—for the new E-Class Coupé, offering more power with lower fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions than their predecessors. The PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), a subset of the electric car, combines a primary electric motor with a much smaller back-up engine fueled with a hydrocarbon/biofuel mix. (In In this paper PHEV refers solely to the long-range PHEV of 60 miles (100 km) electric-only range.) It is much more than that.
