Volvo Cars has published a lifecycle analysis report on its second fully electric car, the C40 Recharge, which shows the potential CO 2 reductions if a car is built and charged using clean energy sources. When charging with electricity generated through fossil fuels, that difference becomes much smaller.

Superyacht builder Sanlorenzo will become the first ship-builder to integrate the new Volvo Penta “electric-ready” marine powertrain system into two new upcoming customer yachts. The flexibility to “mix and match” drive solutions will enable yacht makers to quickly electrify their offerings without the need to fully redesign the hull.

Volvo Car Group has signed long-term agreements with leading battery makers CATL and LG Chem to ensure the multi-billion dollar supply of lithium-ion batteries over the coming decade for next generation Volvo and Polestar models. In 2017 Volvo Cars committed that all new Volvo cars launched from 2019 would be electrified.

The e-Traction converted Volvo 7700 is a battery-dominant hybrid bus; it has the ability to run on battery only, with the diesel generator turned completely off. The Arctic Whisper has 100 kWh of Valence Li-Ion batteries, typically enough for 1-3 hours of fully electric operation due to the high efficiency of the e-Traction wheel motors.

The sister vehicle to the Porsche Taycan, the Audi RS e-Tron GT is the first Audi RS model to go fully-electric, beating rivals BMW M and Mercedes-AMG to market with emissions-free motoring. Its ,lithium-ion battery can be recharged in just 50 minutes with DC fast charging or about seven hours using standard household AC power.
