The US Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy today released the 2010 Fuel Economy Guide, which gives consumers information about estimated fuel costs and mileage standards for model year 2010 vehicles. For MY 2010, the Prius is the top fuel economy leader , with EPA ratings of 51/48 mpg city/highway.

In fact, fuel prices went insane right around the time that review was written. Ford launched the Escape Hybrid as a 2005 model (its Mercury Mariner and Mazda Tribute siblings showed up a bit later), so The General had some catching up to do in the green-car department.

It’s part of my tribute to him. And there’s a 20% price jump between second and first tier panels. But I have seen that the prices on the those Sanyo HIT panels dropping down below $900 a panel. I’m seeing the prices drop on most panels I monitor. We’re about to hit a flatline in terms of panel prices. Pass it on.

Whatever the method we eventually use to charge our vehicles, it is a welcome break from the smelly dirty world of disease-causing liquid fuel. you can go and get your tank filled up, or you can simply exchange the tank (or battery) for a full one and just pay the cost of the fuel (or electricity) with a little overhead to the station.
