Concurrent with upcoming deliveries of the Chevrolet Volt to dealerships in California, Connecticut (Tri-State Metro Area), Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Washington, D.C., Exceptions will be made for Volts that have been selected for extended testing at the factory.

It will be offered in one standard trim level, along with two option packages: a Premium Trim Package and a Rear Camera and Park Assist Package. In the US, GM has found that Chevrolet Volt demonstration units are a popular showroom draw for dealers as they let consumers look, touch and drive the electric car with extended-range capabilities.

GM will introduce the Chevrolet Volt extended range electric vehicle with a starting MSRP of $41,000; after applying the Federal income tax credit of $7,500, the price drops to $33,500. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in launch markets late this year, with initial production of 10,000 units for the first year.

Faster charging with 240 volts also can extend range as drivers can more quickly recharge between stops—up to 20 miles per charge hour. Other standard features on Focus Electric include Ford’s Rear View Camera System, MyKey, rain-sensing windshield wipers and Reverse Sensing System.
