With “tremendous growth” expected for its EVs, Volvo CEO Jim Rowan says the brand is outpacing rivals. Rowan claims Volvo has “much more pricing power” as it rolls out its cheapest EV so far, the EX30, starting at $35,000. After selling a record 113,419 EVs in 2023 (+70% YOY), Volvo expects to build on its momentum this year.
Don’t underestimate the Volvo EX30’s small size. As the first EX30 models reach European buyers, Volvo sees it as a best-seller over the next few years. Volvo reached its highest-ever share of electrified vehicles as its new fully electric EX30 boosted EV sales in February. Although overall sales slid 2% last month, Volvo’s fully electric vehicle sales were up 14%, reaching a new record share.
