While there will be twenty-one commercial EVs at the event, the Semi seems to be the highlight of the entire event. The event will also be looking at things like total electric energy and fuel for all trucks on each day, and what that will mean in total energy usage once all Class 8 trucks are converted to EVs. A tow truck driver that has been responsible for transporting the Semis to Lathrop said they had towed at least four units to that location thus far. Tesla already displayed the Semi’s capabilities with a full load during the unveiling event in December, showing the all-electric class 8 truck traveling 500 miles on a single charge.
