While there will be twenty-one commercial EVs at the event, the Semi seems to be the highlight of the entire event. The event will also be looking at things like total electric energy and fuel for all trucks on each day, and what that will mean in total energy usage once all Class 8 trucks are converted to EVs. Last month, Lightning Systems announced that it has developed a hydrogen fuel cell version of the LightningElectric developed in partnership with several industry partners that will extend the range of the vehicle to more than 200 miles. The road trips are starting at Lightning Systems’ headquarters in Loveland, Colorado.

Tesla already displayed the Semi’s capabilities with a full load during the unveiling event in December, showing the all-electric class 8 truck traveling 500 miles on a single charge. In fact, the facility is set to have Megachargers installed at its plant in Fresno, California. Yesterday, it was spotted in Sacramento.
