Take the Hyundai Tucson compact crossover, replace the rear section with a truck bed, and voilà…the Hyundai Santa Cruz is born! The Ford Maverick is more truck-like, while the Hyundai Santa Cruz is more car-like. The EPA rated the Santa Cruz’ fuel economy at 19 mpg city/27 highway/22 combined. A little crossover, a little truck.

A step up from the CX-5 in size Getting There Clean Fleet Report reviewed the CX-50 with the optional Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter Fuel economy is EPA rated at 23/29/25 mpg for the turbocharged CX-50. The EPA rates the base engine at 24 mpg city/30 highway/27 combined. Efficient under the hood The 2.5L while running on 87 octane.
