Ford Motor Company has certified the first 67 dealers in California, New York and New Jersey to sell the battery-electric 2012 Focus Electric. Production of the Focus Electric began in December 2011 at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Mich. Earlier post.). Phased roll-out of Focus Electric.

Ford has tripled to more than 200 the number of US dealers certified to sell its lineup of plug-in electrified vehicles, including the new C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid that is on sale now and delivers the equivalent of 105 mpg combined in electric mode. Ford recently began production of the C-MAX Energi at its Michigan Assembly Plant.

The 2011 Volt was launched in California, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia and Washington, DC. Coupled with already low dealer inventories and strong demand, the suspension of production, will result in limited availability and reduced sales in June and July.
