Mercedes-Benz Cars plants in Germany to be supplied with CO2-neutral energy from 2022

In the future, 100% of additional purchased electricity will come from verifiable renewable sources, such as wind- and hydropower. In Kecskemét (Hungary), a second plant under construction will be CO 2 -neutral. This corresponds to about three quarters of the required electricity in the German plants.

It will be the first purely electrically powered production vehicle from the Kecskemét plant in Hungary. The magnets—and thus the rotor—follow the rotating alternating current field in the stator windings. This even occurs until they come to a standstill, for example at traffic lights.
