Through this program, California school districts purchasing the Saf-T-Liner C2 Jouley electric school bus are eligible for reimbursement of disposed older school buses approved under California Energy Commission GFO-17-607 grant program. To date, Thomas Built Buses is the only OEM to offer a DC fast-charging power option.

Miami-Dade county is set to receive nearly $20 million from the Environmental Protection Agency to help cover the costs of 50 new electric school buses and 16 DC fast chargers, bringing the public school district’s total to 100 electric buses. The EPA plans to make more funds available for clean school buses in additional rounds of funding.
