Latest generation diesels power 36% of US commercial trucks

Some states have the new diesel technology in more than two-thirds of their fleets. According to Fleet Advantage’s latest Truck Lifecycle Data Index, the newest Class 8 diesel trucks can save truckers up to $26,600 in fuel costs over a 2012 model—a 7.9% increase in savings, despite higher average diesel prices.

Toyota introduces 2012 Prius Plug-in Hybrid

The PCU features a compact inverter design with direct cooling of IGBT transistors, and converts DC to 3-phase AC to drive MG1 and MG2. VDC up to 650 volts DC. The on-board charging system accommodates single pulse DC 110/220 volt input, and is compliant to SAE J1772 standards. Vehicle deliveries begin in Spring 2012.
