It also appears that auto dealers may be able to convert the credit into a cash-on-the-hood discount for their customers. Class 4-8 (over 14,000 lbs) vehicles are eligible for a tax credit of $40,000, or 30% of vehicle cost, whichever is less. The existing cap of 200,000 EVs sold per automaker has been eliminated.
