Azure Dynamics Corporation announced that AT&T has agreed to purchase two of the first Ford Transit Connect Electric vans. The Ford Transit Connect Electric is powered by Azure Dynamics’ Force Drive electric drivetrain with a lithium-ion battery pack from Johnson Controls-Saft.

Azure Dynamics Corporation and Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited, will deliver one of the first Transit Connect Electric commercial vans to Canada Post under the LEAD customer program. Commercial vans generally return to a central location at the end of each driving cycle making for easy overnight recharging.

Azure Dynamics Corporation and Ford Motor Company announced that New York Power Authority (NYPA), the nation’s largest state public power organization, has been added to the LEAD customer program for the Ford Transit Connect Electric van. The battery is rechargeable using either a 240-volt or standard 120-volt outlet.
