Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Juniper GTL LLC President Vianney Valès announced the company will invest $100 million to renovate a dormant steam methane reformer in the Westlake, Louisiana area and convert it to a natural gas-to-liquids (GTL) facility, producing waxes, drilling fluids, diesel and naphtha.

The US Department of Energy has selected six projects for funding that aim to find ways of converting captured carbon dioxide emissions from industrial sources into useful products such as fuel, plastics, cement, and fertilizers. The project team plans to process CO 2 -laden flue gas from a Capital Aggregates, Ltd.
