It tested the performance of two 2007 model Prius hybrids and then converted them into plug-in hybrids using a Hymotion 5kWh lithium-ion battery conversion kit. In its most recent study the prototype battery was replaced with a production model battery and the same pool of drivers was used during vehicle evaluation.

The battery can be recharged by plugging the car into any electrical socket and allows the Prius to run entirely on electricity for speeds up to 34 miles per hour. The conversion can double or even triple fuel economy, thereby severely limiting carbon dioxide emissions. The conversion is simple.

The fuel engine on the Volt is used to run the generator to recharge the battery when a trip exceeds 40 miles, and it’s rage on a full tank is around 400 miles. Then they are driving by electric car conversions every day and not seeing them. — Electric Cars Are For Girls 22.
