Boeing and South African Airways (SAA) will work together to develop and to implement a sustainable aviation biofuel supply chain in Southern Africa, a first for the continent. The aerospace company’s plan to work with SAA is the first such project in Africa.

Cellulosic biofuels company Mascoma Corporation, is acquiring SunOpta BioProcess Inc. The transaction has received all necessary corporate approvals. In early 2010, SBI announced a major contract to supply its fiber preparation and pretreatment technology to one of the largest operators in the new energy sector in China.
