At its Annual Account Press Conference 2015, the BMW Group announced that, for the first time in the history of the Group, 51% of its electricity worldwide is being supplied from renewable sources. At the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, a methane gas system provides around 50% of the energy required for production.

In June, Plug In Carolina selected AeroVironment to supply, install and support a network of public electric vehicle stations in seven South Carolina cities. The control console can be purchased as a standalone tower or as a wall-mountable unit, and with backup J1772 plugs. Among those exhibiting were: Aerovironment.
