A report released by the World Economic Forum during its annual meeting in Davos warns that to have a chance of limiting the average increase in global temperatures to 2°C, a level which an increasing number of experts already considers unsafe, at least US$515 billion per year will need to be invested in clean energy globally between now and 2030.

Green Car Congress attended the Renewable Energy Finance Forum - Wall Street (REFF-Wall Street) conference (23-24 June) sponsored by Euromoney Energy Events and the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE). Although not part of the conferences formal structure, the themes were addressed in the presentations and panel discussions.

The anaerobic digester is fed the waste from the distillation process and the wastes from 2,000 dairy cattle and 10,000 beef cattle being raised on the site. In 2008, Valero Energy CEO Bill Kless had said that using corn to produce ethanol will make food so expensive in poor countries that it will cause more misery than global warming.
