USDA provides $91M loan guarantee to Cool Planet for biogasoline blendstock plant; biomass pyrolysis and catalytic conversion

USDA has reached an agreement with Silicon Valley Bank to provide a $91-million Biorefinery Assistance Program loan guarantee to Cool Planet to help the company finish construction on an advanced biofuel plant at the Port of Alexandria in Louisiana. One of the catalytic conversion processes creates the high-octane gasoline blendstock.

GM investing $6.6B in Michigan to ramp up battery cell and electric truck manufacturing

The investment includes construction of a new Ultium Cells battery cell plant in Lansing with LG and the conversion of GM’s assembly plant in Orion Township, Michigan for production of the Chevrolet Silverado EV and the electric GMC Sierra. Production of the Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV will continue during the plant’s conversion.
