Rolls-Royce Group has reached agreement with Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the sovereign wealth fund of the State of Qatar, to invest £85 million (US$112 million) in Rolls-Royce SMR Limited (Rolls-Royce SMR). The development of SMRs is a core part of the UK Government’s 10-point plan for a green industrial revolution.

The GTL pathway model they used is based on global current or imminent GTL production, representing “ an industrially relevant average ” of the GTL process (the model GTL facility is located in Qatar). The net effect is an increase in the overall efficiency of the entire system relative to the GTL process alone.
