The District Government authorized this scalable all-electric taxi pilot in an effort to improve the air quality in Colombia’s dense cities. Forty-nine BYD e6, 5-passenger, all-electric cross-over sedans received approval from the Colombia Ministry of Transportation to operate as taxis in the city of Bogotá.

The City of Bogota, Colombia, has launched a pilot project to spur the use of electric vehicles in Bogota’s center-city taxi fleet. The Decree further mandates the Secretary of the Environment and the Secretary of Mobility to consider requirements for monitoring and reporting. 677 to support the project over a three-year period.
