It was started by a chemist and government researcher named Wang Chuan-Fu in 1995 (same year as Yahoo) to make rechargeable batteries, which it learned to do very well. Today, BYD employes 130,000 people in 11 factories, either in China and one each in India, Hungary and Rumania. BYD is an amazing company.

Even if you charge your EV with electricity made from coal fired generators you reduce your car’s pollution by half. The big threat will come from escalating military forces build up in China and India, and we will realize we lack the manpower to run our extensive and growing military complex as it is!
