Others are sugarcane molasses ethanol from Guatemala; mixed feedstock to biodiesel from Texas; and a new ARB-staff-developed pathway for North American landfill gas. After the sugarcane has been crushed, all of the cane juice is sent to sugar production. Surplus electricity produced is exported to the local electrical grid.

The plant was originally fueled by coal but was converted to natural gas in 2010. After the sugarcane has been crushed, the cane juice is filtered, treated with calcium hydroxide, decanted, and then sent to sugar production. However, the Raizen COPI mill exports surplus co-generated electricity to the public grid.
