In Germany, all Mercedes-Benz plants will be supplied with CO 2 -neutral energy. Today, new plants in Europe are already planned with a CO2-neutral energy supply from the start. With a CO2-neutral energy supply of the plants, we are consistently pursuing this approach and are actively driving sustainability in production.

The UK has been a leader in deploying on and offshore wind turbines. Solar also generates a good share of the power generated when the sun shines. What we have not done so well is to ensure that we have a solid base level of generation to supply electricity when there is no sun and no wind. No Storage. Nuclear 15%.

The level of power supplied to chargers and energy utilization are visually displayed and can be adjusted according to EV and site requirements as well as constraints. This can also avoid penalties levied by the utility for over-stressing the grid and requiring the utility to purchase expensive power from the general capacity market.

Such cities would become self-contained units, their buildings gleaning energy from the powerful weather systems sweeping across their roofs and feeding it down to homes below and vehicles in the streets. Electric cars in the garages would double as battery packs for when energy supplies are scarce. The elegance of that is wonderful.
