Alternative fuel technologies have been embraced in Seattle, after the city was awarded a $1.4million grant from the US Department of Energy to enhance its fleet of green vehicles. Seattle also signed an agreement to be one of the first markets to introduce the Nissan LEAF back in April. So how will the money be spent?

Captured CO2 will be further cleaned and compressed, and then transported by pipeline to an existing regional CO 2 pipeline or, potentially, to a nearby EOR field. The H 2 -rich syngas stream will be split, with part used to produce. electricity via the turbine and the other part be used to produce urea for fertilizer.

Electric vehicles will be rolled out in France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand and will be subsequently extended to other countries, as part of the alliance.
