The annual assessment of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by the JRC and the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL) confirms that CO 2 emissions have stalled for the third year in a row. Emissions from international transport (aviation and shipping) contribute another 3% to the total global GHG emissions.

Today, new plants in Europe are already planned with a CO2-neutral energy supply from the start. With a CO2-neutral energy supply of the plants, we are consistently pursuing this approach and are actively driving sustainability in production. In Jawor (Poland), a new CO 2 -neutral engine plant is being built.

At Mercedes-Benz Cars Operations, we are pursuing the strategy digital, flexible and green in our global production organization. Already existing high-efficiency gas CHP systems additionally generate local heat and power at the factories. This also includes that we will supply all our German plants with CO 2 -neutral energy by 2022.
