The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. Generating electricity from wind and geothermal rather than a CO2 producing sources would help alleviate that problem. Many others are not so careful.
