At present, 17 of the 27 EU Member States levy CO 2 -related taxes on passenger cars, and 15 governments provide tax incentives for electrically chargeable vehicles, according to the newly published European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) Tax Guide 2010. New to the list is Belgium.

A new UK car manufacturer, Axon Automotive has previewed its plug-in hybrid electric vehicle at the Milton Keynes Science Festival. The vehicle combines full electric mode for short distance travel and uses a petrol or bioethanol powered engine for long distance or motorway travel. Axon Automotive Ltd.

AESC will market its laminated compact lithium-ion batteries to automotive manufacturers around the world for use in electric-powered vehicles (hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles). in the United States; and Israel, Portugal, Monaco, United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Ireland, China, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Drive Electric has advocated for a comprehensive plan to decarbonise transport for the past two years. In 2020, 70 per cent of new vehicle sales in Norway were EV. Slovenia, Iceland, the Netherlands, Ireland, India, Denmark, Sweden, Israel, Germany and the United Kingdom all have 2030 deadlines. Japan has a 2035 deadline.
