It was one year ago that we decided to add solar panels to our roof. With two Electric cars, at the time a Nissan Lean and Mitsubishi Outlander, we use a considerable amount of electricity but not much petrol, so already we were a reasonable way down the less CO2 road. Panels: JA Solar black. Power is watts.

Even if you charge your EV with electricity made from coal fired generators you reduce your car’s pollution by half. If you charge with solar, is way less. April 10, 2009 2:28 pm Link Nothing pollutes more than the tailpipe of a internal combustion engine car. We need to stop BURNING fuel in our cars.

If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal. The intolerable act is to pretend that making cars into plug-ins will reduce CO2.
