LNG as fuel eliminates SO x emissions, significantly reduces NO x and particulate matter, and also reduces GHG emissions—although not to the levels that would be required for addressing climate change. Enhancing the role of electricity on ships will contribute towards improved energy management and fuel efficiency on larger vessels.
