The BMW Group presented the first BMW iX5 Hydrogen vehicles in a pilot fleet that will go into service this year. The fleet of less than 100 vehicles will then be employed internationally for demonstration and trial purposes for various target groups. The pressure plate forms a gas-tight and water-tight seal around the stack housing.

At Volkswagen, we are convinced that climate protection and efficient technologies are drivers for economic growth. Volkswagen had already reduced the fuel consumption of its fleet in China, currently including more than 70 models, by 20% between 2005 and 2010. A further reduction of 11% is planned by 2015.

In December 2014, Böhni submitted a motion for consideration by the National Council (Nationalrat) that would create the legal basis for importers and manufacturers of vehicles that run on CO 2 -neutral synthetic fuels made in Switzerland to receive credit for the corresponding reduction in CO 2 emissions under fleet emission rules.

Even in the BAU scenario, a reduction in emissions of around 53% is achieved due to expected technological advances and the composition of the vehicle fleet. Preventing competition among environmental protection technologies with bans is a waste of resources and does a disservice to climate protection.
