Most small, 2 wheel drive SUVs from MY 1975-2011 have been reclassified from trucks to cars; this lowers the absolute truck share, particularly since the mid-1980s when SUV sales began to increase rapidly. The second change is that, for the first time, the preliminary data for MY 2011 include MDPVs (medium-duty personal vehicles).
