British adventurers Chris and Julie Ramsey will cross 14 countries, through Canada, North, Central and South America to Punta Arenas in Chile before travelling to the edge of the Antarctic continent, then onward to the South Pole. Modifications to the car have been intentionally minimal, with no changes to the battery or powertrain.

Koch Industries-backed Standard Lithium said last October it had drilled a Texas brine well with lithium concentrations nearly as high as those found in parts of Chile, which has the world’s largest lithium reserves. “We’re taking a measured approach to Texas,” said Robert Mintak, Standard’s CEO.
